… The Academy Awards!
The Academy Awards took place this weekend for the 85th time in its long history. This Academy Awards would prove to be a step forward with many firsts for the storied award show. For the first time in history of the awards the entire show will be aired online. Beginning Monday morning at 6 a.m. and continuing all the way Wednesday at midnight, the show can be seen on ABC.com, the ABC Player app, Hulu and Hulu Plus. You can also watch it on ABC On Demand.
Even without this new feature from ABC there are many popular clips floating around the internet. One clip that was sure to create a buzz was a surprisingly well sung humorous number from host Seth McFarlane.
Another big winner at the Awards was Jennifer Lawrence. She has been a huge hit this year in nearly everything she does and keeping with that trend she took the Oscar for best Actress in a Leading Role, for her part in Silver Linings Playbook. Lawrence also made buzz winning Twitter’s vote for best dressed.
In a more entertaining event Lawrence made a smooth move on her way to the stage, for accepting her Oscar, in a graceful plunge as she was walking up the stairs. While this was just one of her many memorable moments from the Academy Awards, Mashable put together a collection of .gifs of Lawrence being “Awesome.”
Another person making a splash was Jason Gordon-Levitt, with his Oscar worth Photobombs.
And once again photobombing Jamie Foxx here:
One of the most interesting stories behind an Oscar was to Best Documentary for Searching for Sugar Man. This documentary was partially shot using an iPhone, believe it or not. The director Malik Bendjelloul ran out of 8MM film, in which the majority of the documentary was filmed, so he had to use an app called 8MM Vintage Camera.
